Snow Removal Plans
It is safe to say that most cities that get snow annually have a city snow and ice plan. But the city’s snow and ice plan doesn’t include your parking lot, and it may not even include the entrance road to your commercial property. When it comes to your business staying open when snow and ice hit the city says you are on your own. Officially, on your own… because the Public Works department has clearly written “residents and business owners are encouraged to clear sidewalks in front of their properties to ensure safe passage for pedestrians”.
So what is your snow removal plan as a business trying to stay open?
It is always best to stay alert and have your own spare ice melt bags ready to go. You should be able to handle most of the small stuff on your own. When you get overwhelmed then let us know and we will work you into our schedule. We do recommend signing up for our snow and ice alerts. Having even a few days advanced notice helps.
